Do I need Apple and Android Developer accounts?

You'll need an Apple Developer Account, but you can use our Android developer account. Due to changes in Apple's policy, they require that you have your own developer account, which is $99 per year. We will be happy to work with you to setup your account.

Do I need anything specific to setup my Apple Developer Account?

You'll need a D-U-N-S® Number (learn more) and Legal Entity Status.

What is the difference between the Basic and the Advanced plans?

For both plans we’ll take care of the design work and making the app available for download. The biggest difference between the two is that with the Basic plan, you will be handling all of the app data updates and maintenance yourself. With the Advanced Plan you’ll have more of our time made available to you after the app is launched (up to 3 hours per month of our time for Content Updates*) plus more comprehensive phone support.

What mobile platforms does MyDowntown Mobile support?

We support iPhone, Android, and HTML5.

What is an HTML5 Website?

The HTML5 website is intended to be viewed on mobile phones through a mobile web browser as opposed to a “native app” which is installed on your phone from the iPhone or Google Play stores. It will look essentially the same, however since it is not a native app, some features will be missing, including GPS integration and push notifications.

I already have mobile website, why do I need a mobile app?

A mobile app allows you to take advantage of native smartphone functions like push notifications and GPS integration. Push notifications have shown to drive significant traffic to mobile apps and the more people are on your app, the more it will help you build your community and brand.

Can I make changes to my app after it’s been published?

Yes! The app can easily be updated through our Content Management System. Additionally, with the Advanced Plan, we can handle some of those updates for you (up to 3 hours per month*) or we can develop a custom maintenance schedule with you, just ask!

Can I make changes to my app by myself?

Yes! You’ll have full access to our Content Management System after the app has been launched.

I don’t have time to maintain the app myself, can you do this for me?

Yes! With the Advanced Plan, we can handle some of those updates for you (up to 3 hours per month*) or we can develop a custom maintenance schedule with you, just ask!

How long does it take for my app to be available for download?

Upon submission to the app stores, it will take a few days for Android apps to be available on the Google Play Store, and up to a week on the Apple App Store.

* We are invested in the success of your app, so we've included Content Updates with the Advanced Plan to help you when you don't have the time. Hours are non-transferrable.
